Christell works in the Taunton and West area and loves talking about the important work which we do.  She has recently taken on the role of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Lead within PROMISEworks.

Christell joined the team in November 2019 as the Case Holder for the Taunton and West Somerset area.

Before becoming part of the PROMISEworks team, Christell has had 10 years’ experience working with children and young people. Christell acted as a mentor and an advocate for vulnerable children and young people during this time. This is when her passion for representing children and young people’s views was ignited. Christell enjoyed building up a positive relationship with the young people she mentored and delivering the views of children in the advocacy projects she was assigned.

Christell, prior to joining PROMISEworks, worked in the Leaving Care Team in Taunton for 5 years, this is where she gained her understanding for the complex needs that Care Leavers have. It was also there where she developed an understanding of the deeper importance of positive, committed relationships for young people who have experiences Adverse Childhood Experiences.

Christell is looking forward to encouraging more people from Taunton and the West to become mentors.
